Have you ever seen an ad claiming that YOU HAVE WON 1 MILLION DOLLERS!? The majority of internet users have encountered them, and some for a moment thought that they had came across something amazing! The rational people read the fine print, realizing they were lied to; the gullible jump out of their chair freaking out over the illusion of being special, of being AN INSTANT WINNER. Ever hear of the old saying "if something is too good to be true, it probably is"? Well, when it comes to spam, we know just how annoying it can be: flooding our emails, causing annoying pop-ups -- it seems like it will not go away. I do believe people are free to believe that they are MILLION DOLLAR WINNERS all they wish however.
But, still, I'm not sure what is more annoying: the spam that is constantly put in our face, or the people that have also seen the same spam, but believe that they are some how special. That they were special enough to serf around on the internet, and happen to have been lucky enough to win such an obscene amount of money. Then run around telling everyone else how special, and rich they have become. They probably even know about all the scams and spam out there, but for some reason believe that their spam was different. Not everyone is a MILLION DOLLAR WINNER, and if we all believed that we were, all our computers would be full of viruses. That is the difference between the logical and the gullible, the logical know a potential virus when they see it.
