Why I dislike TheAmazingAtheist

This is his newest video. I really don't understand why people follow him (other than him being a train-wreck). I've always perceived TheAmazingAtheist as an immoral scumbag. He has no respect for other people, not even other atheists, and he is just a nasty individual. Not to attack his psychology too much, but I would say a good candidate for some antidepressants. Watch a few of his videos, it is easy to see that he is not very balanced.

It really bothers me that he is the most subscribed to atheist (i.e. person that has a focus on atheism) on YouTube. At the moment, he represents the face of atheism on YouTube for many many people....isn't that scary? TheAmazingAtheist has done a great deal to harm the image of atheism. When a non-atheist sees him, all they see is a mentally disturbed individual that needs a god. The fact that he has more subscribers than Thunderf00t or Pat Condell speaks volumes for the atheist community on YouTube. If you have been following this blog, you know very well that I'm not a big fan of certain types of atheists, and TheAmazingAtheist is a good representation of them (along with Coughlan666). His most annoying attributes is his lack of humility coupled with his incredible and unjustified arrogance. His message is pessimistic, and the world would be better off without it.

Again, it is sad that he represents the atheist community on YouTube (by having the most subscribers he does in the eyes of many). I believe TheAmazingAtheist would be better off with religion. Some people need that sort of thing. Some people will not behave morally unless they believe something is watching them 24/7 that can hold them accountable. I suggest Mormonism :)

The thought of others suffering brings certain people joy. If hell truly existed, it probably wouldn't exist as a fear tactic. Those that are only good out of fear of hell are not truly good at all. The reality is such people are disingenuous sociopaths. Underneath her self-righteous front, is a scared, ignorant person. As she imagines TheAmazingAtheist suffering, you can see her eyes light up with joy. If there is such a thing as evil in this world, that is what it looks like (albeit subtle). Those that get pleasure out of viewing/imagining the suffering of others have psychological "issues" (to put it nicely). Atheists are not good for the sake of reward or fear of punishment. Acting good out of fear is not truly being good, but afraid. A person cannot be good out of fear of hell (they are afraid, they are merely acting good).

Christianity is making the claim, it is up to them to prove it. Atheists are denying the claim, and Christians have provided no evidence. Why would it be up to the atheists to prove their position? The atheist position is true thus far because Christians (or believers in other deities) have failed to prove their position (atheists obviously being deniers of God). Many of the bible's claims have been scientifically/historically disproven, and the bible is the source of the Christian god (this shows that the writers were full of it). Atheism can only be disproven if God (or any god) is proven to exist (hasn't happened yet). The atheist stance is only that there are no deity/s, the burden of proof does not rest on them because they are not making a claim (atheists are denying the claim of god/s existing).

Shouldn't all of this be obvious? If you read this Shockofgod, think long and hard about the below example, and how it is applicable to you.

Me: "There is an invisible unicorn in my room that can freely move through any object."
Unicorn Skeptic: "Okay, prove it!"
Me: "Well, you can't prove that it isn't real.."
Unicorn Skeptic: "You're the one making the claim, you're the one with the burden of proof.."
Me: "So you're saying that you cannot prove that my unicorn doesn't exist?"
Unicorn Skeptic: "You're such a f@cking moron.."  
Me: "See, you can't prove that they aren't real. This means I must be right!...

DANGERS OF ATHEISM DEBUNKED! (TheAmazingAtheist)

Atheism is not dangerous, people are. It depends on how much people have relied on religion in the past. If someone bases all meaning/morality on religion, then becomes an atheist, then that can cause psychological turmoil. Some people need religion to prop them up in life-meaning and morality.
