Biblical Law on Women who are not virgins on their wedding night: Deuteronomy 22:20-22

"But if the charge is true and there is no proof that she was a virgin, then they are to take her out to the entrance of her father's house, where the men of her city are to stone her to death. She has done a shameful thing among our people by having intercourse before she was married, while she was still living in her father's house. In this way you will get rid of this evil. "If a man is caught having intercourse with another man's wife, both of them are to be put to death. In this way you will get rid of this evil. -Deuteronomy 22:20-22

A women not being a virgin on her wedding night is a capital offense, but rape is not. Obviously the punishment far exceeds the crime (like many biblical laws). Not only that, but what a double standard; as shown by my post on the rape laws in the Bible, the punishment for rape is being forced to marry the victim. Of course the Bible was written by men, their "inspiration" from God always appears to tip the balance of justice in their favor, and against those they enjoy oppressing (women in this case).
