(Cruel God) No Mercy: Isaiah 13:11-18

The LORD says, "I will bring disaster on the earth and punish all wicked people for their sins. I will humble everyone who is proud and punish everyone who is arrogant and cruel. Those who survive will be scarcer than gold. I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place on that day when I, the LORD Almighty, show my anger. "The foreigners living in Babylon will run away to their homelands, scattering like deer escaping from hunters, like sheep without a shepherd. Anyone who is caught will be stabbed to death. While they look on helplessly, their babies will be battered to death, their houses will be looted, and their wives will be raped." The LORD says, "I am stirring up the Medes to attack Babylon. They care nothing for silver and are not tempted by gold. With their bows and arrows they will kill the young men. They will show no mercy to babies and take no pity on children. -Isaiah 13:11-18

  1. People, in general, go through life trying to survive, mentally, emotionally and physically any way they can. Where there is no mercy there is no God. There's no shame in trying to be a survivor. You just do your best.

  2. I see how you think this is a bad verse but, if you're a true Christian, you don't have to worry about this. God does give out mercy. If you want it, consider believing.

  3. The verses show that the biblical God (if he is real) is not against abortion of human lives nor is he against infanticide, instead he is an abortionist and an infanticist and he commits those acts to punish the parents for what they (not the babies) have done. Thus God, as portrayed in the Bible is extremely evil, and thus must not be worshiped even if he is real.
