Should Atheists Organize Politically? (Debate: Bill Maher vs Adam Carolla)

Just because people organise does not make them a religion—which is mind-numbingly obviously. Atheists are the most hated minority in the united states. Atheists often get attacked openly, with no negative consequences. I suppose it was the same situation for the gays not too long ago. Is being gay a religion? Well, gay people organize to get what they want legislatively, why can't atheists?
