The Evolution Of Morality

Being that morality is hard-wired into us—if this awareness was existent within our population—many more would see just how worthless religious belief is (the religious believe that morality comes from "holy scripture". Religion is only useful for those that wouldn't ordinarily act morally. It fears them into acting good, like a bad child around Christmas.

ReplyDeleteI found myself in a debate with a coworker today, who just so happens to be a pretty devote Christian, over morals. Naturally all he does is read the Bible and other Christian books (trying to better himself but he has NO idea what's going on in the world so I don't see how that is bettering oneself!). It was like pitting a scholar against a freshman. I don't spend hours thinking about this sort of stuff I understand my morals but I don't have some book to back it up with so naturally I didn't really articulate my point too well! Anyway google led me to this video and I'm so happy it did! Great job!
