When people claim to know something which takes faith, they misunderstand what faith is; faith is not based upon what a person knows, it is based upon what a person believes. The truth is, this guy has no idea what happened, and he is using his religion to try to make sense of the unsenseable. There is a rational explanation for everything, and there is an explanation for this as well. I would say he probably walked out on his own two feet, but the event was so traumatic, he doesn't remember it.
