Kanye West Forgives George W. Bush in interview (over Katrina drama)

How is his faith relevant in forgiveness? The Christian god is the least forgiving character to have ever been dreamt up by the human mind (if you bring up Jesus, I'll raise you an eternity in hell). I can think of several children's books that teach forgiveness much better than the Bible. Perhaps as an atheist I am biased towards being skeptical of the Christian faith—but I do not see how being a Christian teaches forgiveness. The bible is as effective at teaching forgiveness as it is for treating STDs (it teaches to kill a bird and do some goofy ritual).

An atheist (a person without religious faith) is in a much better spot to forgive someone; this is because they are not bound by the teachings of the Bible. The Bible attempts to suppress empathy by demonizing those that fall outside of what the writers perceives as perfection in beliefs and actions. The bible teaches that hatred is pointless because all enemies will be destroyed and/or will be tortured in Hell forever, some empathy.
