Richard Dawkins on Islamic fundamentalism

A fundamentalist, I believe, truly gets at the heart of a belief system. There is a reason we don't talk/worry about Mormon fundamentalists, but do Muslim fundamentalists. Obviously Christianity has the potential for fundamentalism, but for the most part Christians have adapted to living amongst those with different beliefs. Many Muslims (i.e. the true moderates) have already done this, and I believe Islamic fundamentalism is on the decline. In-fact I have a pet theory that the Middle East is going to be dominated by atheism in a relatively short amount of time (30-50 years) due to the culture's inability to adapt to the rapid cultural changes that it will incur. Religions don't do well in the presence of things like the internet (large exposure to a variety of ideas). I believe atheism and the internet go hand-in-hand, and it all comes down to information flow.

Terry Jones burning the Koran (an atheist's response)

If it were atheists that went around killing people because someone burned an Origin of Species, people would automatically place blame on the atheists (as they should). There is a double-standard in the world today. While yes, there are some good Muslims (weird how I always feel compelled to put this disclaimer out), many of them are so culturally behind that they stick out like a sore thumb. I view this sort of thing as mere growing pains for certain Muslim peoples (referring to the kind of Muslim that violently lashes out, murdering people because of things like cartoon drawings and book burnings).

Many Muslims need to be shown that their religion is one among many, and is not immune to criticism (regardless if it is justified). Just because a person criticizes another's beliefs, this does not give that person the justification to be violent, no matter what god they worship. We cannot give Muslims special privileges over other groups. For example, if it was the KKK (a Christian dominated group) that was acting this way towards someone burning the bible, obviously it would not be tolerated. Muslims that are killing those people need to be held fully accountable. A guy burning a book is not responsible for their actions. The PC Nazis are using Terry Jones as a means of diversion from the actual problem because they are afraid of calling a kettle black. Perhaps not all kettles are black, but it can't be denied some certainly are.

Let's say some foreigners burned an U.S flag (which they do all the time). Would it be justified for Americans to run around killing people because of it? This obvious double standard needs to be done away with, it is clouding our (i.e. the world's) perception of reality.

In general, if people lash out violently, and get their way/get away with it, they will continue behaving that way as an automatic response (because it works). We cannot bow down to threats of violence/actual violence, if we do, we will never rid ourselves of it. Respect is a two way street.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali on Converting Muslims to Christianity

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is onto something. Some people need a religion; i.e. atheism is not right for everyone. Competition among ideas is a good thing—with competition the best ideas will win out. The problem here is that large numbers of people are not exposed to a wide variety of ideas. I think most people, if provided the right circumstances, would gravitate to atheism (appeals to human-logic). With the rise of the internet we will see the continuation of the rise of atheism (and obviously the down-fall of religion). We have already seen the rise of atheism in America because of this, once the internet starts to take off more in places like the Middle East, atheism will rise there as well, forcing the fundamentalist to take a more secular/moderate stance.

Al Qaeda Populating U.S. With Peaceful 'Decoy Muslims' ?!

If you are offended by this video, you have a poor sense of humor (and sarcasm). This video is obviously satire to point out the irrational fear of all Muslims. Moderate Muslims should not be feared, and I believe the vast majority of Muslims in the United States are moderates. Hell (npi), fundamentalist Christians have been known to be dangerous/offensive, just look at the Westboro Baptist Church (they picket soldiers' funerals with signs like "thank God for dead soldiers" etc.

With that said, I do think that certain beliefs do not mix well inside a secular society, luckily we have a constitution to keep such people in check (not naming names of course). For example, Mormons are not allowed to engage in polygamy, they had to give that up to live in this country (well, unless they live on a secret compound).

As long as everyones' rights are protected, everything will continue on like clockwork in the United States; as FDR said: "we have nothing to fear but fear itself".

Prejudice media towards the religion of Islam.

Muslims must feel so persecuted, even though they are by far not the most hated group in America. In-fact, an out-of-the-closet atheist has a harder time getting elected in the United States than a Muslim does (according to polls people would be more willing to vote that way). Considering our history, and the events on the news, Muslims are getting along just fine in the media. Also, if someone leaves the Muslim faith, they have every right to talk about their views about it.

It is the confrontational nature of certain very "passionate" individuals that causes the friction that is being referred to. Remember when the South Park writers were given death threats for portraying Muhammad (even though they really didn't)?

Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the oil (aka: negative media attention). If Mormons were handing out death threats and blowing themselves up, we would be hearing about that on the news, and people would obviously question the belief system itself.

I've seen many bits done on Fox "News" that bash atheists (like Fox does with many, if not all groups at some point), thin skinned people need to toughen up. Respect is something you must earn, not something you are entitled to. Also, no people, nor belief should be immune to criticism.

Video: Muslim Hatred Towards Jews vs. Nazi Hatred (plus short response to video)

As a disclaimer -- obviously not ALL Muslims hate Jews. This blog post is addressing those that do, along with those that shove this hatred down the throats of their children....brainwashing them to be forever intolerant and close-minded (and sometimes violent).

It's sad that the children are being brainwashed to hate a group of people they know nothing about. Propaganda like this can and probably will lead to a very nasty future. Children should never be taught to hate—being taught to hate (especially that young) will surely cause many psychological issues. This sort of thing should be viewed as a crime against humanity. No culture should be able to brainwash their children to hate another culture -- this is what breeds hatred and intolerance, and ultimately conflict. The suicide bombers of today were the brainwashed children of yesterday (metaphorically speaking). Instead of hatred, children should be taught empathy. There has to be some passages in the Quran that promote empathy? Right? Many Muslims claim Islam is a religion of peace, so by this logic there must be some interpretations that would promote acceptance of others. Hatred is the best way for the nonintellectual to deal with conflict.

Pat Condell: "Your faith is a joke"

Pat Condell is an atheist YouTuber, click here for his channel. It is automatically assumed that people's beliefs should be respected, especially if those beliefs are considered to be religious. The problem is that people label others as being a belief system (I am a Christian, he is a Muslim, they are atheists etc.); people are not a belief system, like they are not a television set. A belief system (like a television) is something a person possess, not what they are. How ridiculous would it be if someone claimed to be a flat-screen TV? Anything that can be taken away is something which is possessed including beliefs (e.g. head injury, Alzheimer's disease, and death).

Muslim Woman Whipped In Public For Wearing Trousers (Caution: Very Disturbing Video)

How disgusting. Apparently Islam is a religion of peace, could have fooled me...

This is the product of religion, pure and simple (religion is what it takes for people to justify such nasty behavior towards their fellow human). It is incredibly torturous to treat women like this—an obvious human right's violation. Apparently this sort of thing happens on a regular basis within nations dominated by Islam. Like Christianity stifled science in the past, Islam is stifling the progress of human right's. All moderate Muslims should be outraged by this for many reasons.

Humans aren't naturally this nasty, it takes perception altering belief systems to make it acceptable. I say this because in societies with religious freedom (which is really freedom from religion) treat their people much better; there is an obvious correlation here that cannot be denied. To deny that this is caused by religion is to accept human right's violations by turning the other way and ignoring it.

This site would never be seen in a secular society. Religion has no place in government, if it finds itself there, this is what you get. We in secular societies often take for granted the civil rights that we have. And oppression like this should never be tolerated, regardless if it is religion causing it or not. Also to see the men laughing at this is reflective of their lack of conscience. They are complete scumbags for doing what they are doing and thinking it is funny.

Atheist Richard Dawkins interviews a Crazy Muslim (who used to be a Jew)

Poor Richard thought he could have a rational conversation with someone as irrational as this guy. People like this cannot be reasoned with, there is very little purpose in even talking with people with this sort of mentality (the mentality of world domination and the enslavement of women).

A muslim argues with Atheist Richard Dawkins over Islam in a video game (sound board prank)

Why to Muslims seem to always pronounce 'Quran' with such an exaggerated accent? This is obviously a sound board, and not really Dawkins. Still funny though.

A Person Cannot Be A Belief

People are not what they possess. Richard Dawkins has said many times that he dislikes those that use terms like 'Christian child' or a 'Muslim child'. While it is true that a child cannot be a Muslim or Christian, the same is the case for adults as well (but for a different reason).

A person cannot be a belief. For example, I got a new laptop computer, wouldn't I sound insane if I were to say: "I am a Dell XPS". A person is not, nor will they ever be what they possess. I can own a pen, but I am not, nor will I ever be a pen (at least in this lifetime). The point is, no matter what I think of as being my own, my actual being remains unchanged. While this sounds like trivial word-play, it is not.

To believe that you are a belief system creates the mentality that those not of your belief system do not belong to the same proverbial team. This is what allows people to act so inhumanly towards one another. And it isn't only religion—during WW2 we were able to drop the a-bomb on a couple of Japanese cities because we believed that we were what we possessed (or more specifically the land we made a living on). You are not your country, you may be a member of a group living on a particular piece of land, but you are not the land you stand on.

I could go on and on about all of the different false-beings that exist (they are all but countless). Political parties, sport teams, education level, social class, religion, and so on. Even skin color is the same way, if you don't believe me, go ask a person who was born blind. A person possess the ability to see color, and again, you are not what you possess. If it can be taken away, then it is not part of your being.

A substantial enough head-injury can bring a person closer to the truth. When the ability to remember fades away, oneself is not lost, but is found. We are not a perspective, or a memory, not even nothing, for all things exist in the thoughts of a temporary condition.

Bill O'Reilly Gets Whoopi Goldberg & Joy Behar to Walk Off The View

It's funny seeing those two bitches on their periods (redundant, I know)  fake being offended. Bill O'Reilly is right, we were attacked by Muslims on 9/11 (sky is blue). Those "women" are PC zombies that do mental gymnastics to avoid offending a group of people—satisfying a faith that all people are the same and should be treated as such, regardless of their actions.

The fact is, we were attacked by Muslims—Muslims who based their courage and hatred on their religious convictions. If we were to ask a 'fanatic' of the Islamic faith how they would describe themselves—they would not use the word 'fanatic'— instead, terms like 'true-Muslim' or 'devout-Muslim' would be used.

Whoopi Goldberg and that other bitch had that all-so-common "I'm holding back an erection" look in their eyes (I mean that metaphorically, I think). They both were certainty holding back smiles (look closely at the video if you didn't notice it). They assume that their position is the open-minded one—patting each other on the back during their whole act—anyone that didn't notice how fake the anger was is blind.

There very well may be Muslims that use the Islamic religion for peaceful purposes. But we also must accept that some Muslims use the religion for destructive purposes. Those that use it for destructive purposes are not twisting the religion anymore than the 'moderates'. In other words, the way in which Islam is interpreted is all based on the disposition of individual.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people, and people killed people on 9/11. People that follow the Christian religion can find many reasons in the Bible to justify violence (they do and have).  But, at the same time to deny that it was Muslims that attacked us on 9/11 is absurd. Why don't we show the same unjustified respect towards Nazis? If being a Nazi was a religious thing (instead of social/political) the way which they are talked about would be much different—why is that?

Family Guy's Peter Griffen On 72 Virgins In Heaven.

This is why it is a bad time to be a virgin with all the suicide bombings in the Middle East. Everyone must make sure to not die a virgin, otherwise you will be sent to Muslim heaven! (a fate worse than hell).

Atheist Comedian On 72 Virgins in Heaven

Imagine blowing up a hospital expecting to have 72 virgins and getting raisins instead. Poor martyrs, all that sexual repression and violence only for raisins. I bet if instead of 72 virgins, Muslims believed in the 'raisin translation', suicide bombings would be reduced if not eliminated—this shows the "pure" religious mentality of Muslim fundamentalists. Muslim martyrs do not have too much faith, they have too much sex hormone with not enough brains.

Atheist Christopher Hitchens Debates a Muslim on Free Speech and Stomps Him.

This guy had no idea what he was getting himself into. You can't have your cake and eat it to; Muslims want freedom of speech, but others to not have it whom disagree with Islam. If Muslims around the world want the privilage of having freedom of speech and be able to live in the modern world, they must conform to our way of doing things—not the other way around.

Terrifying Muslim Demographics

If this video is correct, then we are in for some rough times in the future. Why is this scary? Well, it is scary for those that love things like freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Islam is just as much of a political doctrine as much as it is religious. Perhaps—while their are none at the moment—Muslim moderation will eventually come into being. Why do I say that there is no moderation in Islam? Well, what we refer to as a "moderate" Muslim would be considered fundamental by most standards of judging... let's say a Christian. I believe that it must be figured out as to why Muslims are immigrating and reproducing as they are in order to preserve our culture. Obviously I'm not calling for genocide or war, but our culture is something worth fighting for.

Using Koran Toilet Paper = Hate Speech?

(Disclaimer — this website does not support the use of the Koran as ass-tissues)

I found this video on the internets. I wonder if using a Koran as toilet paper is considered to be hate-speech? I'm not claiming to support or not support the use of Korans as toilet paper, but it is undeniable that many people are using the Muslim holy-book as such. Are the people that prefer the durable-Koran-toilet-paper, bigots?

Hypothetically, let's say that I was very poor. I ran into this Muslim was giving away free Korans (not literally). I needed to release my bowels, but was unable to afford toilet paper. Would it be bigoted for me to wipe away the remains of my fudge-dragon on Koran pages? Considering that the paper itself is not viewed as holy by the Muslims—not even the words can be considered holy—otherwise that would be a form of idolatry (it would be the worshiping paper/Muhammad's word and not Allah himself). In other words, to show love and adoration towards a book is to worship it, so obviously no Muslims would do such a thing...right guys?

Muslim Disney Worker (Yahoo News)

On Yahoo News (written by Associated Press) there was a short news story about a Disney worker by the name of Imane Boudlal that refused to remove her 'hijab'. A hijab is a piece of cloth that a Muslim puts on their head. Anyways, according to the story Disney offered an alternative headscarf-thing that would satisfy the employee's belief in wearing a piece of cloth in order to make an invisible man happier, along with the clothing requirements of Disney employees. She refused to wear it, and referred to the offer as 'making a joke of her religion'.

Is Disney making a joke of Islam? Is Islam just a joke? I suppose only Allah knows (meaning nobody knows). Please keep in mind, I am not implying that Islam is a joke, I am simply asking questions here.

This woman has a lot of arrogance to think that Disney should change their policy to accommodate her. Before applying for this job, she should have researched what the job entails. If you can't manage to do the job (which includes following the dress code) don't apply for the job. This sounds painfully obvious, but people like to play stupid in order to win money from a lawsuit.

Imagine if a person named Bob had a religion which prohibited him from touching wood—believing that the touching of wood is pure evil. Bob applied for a job working as a lumberjack.

Should:

A) The logging company be responsible for 'accommodating' Bob's beliefs?

Or

B) Should Bob find a job that doesn't involve touching wood?

While this make-believe religion is nothing like Catholicism, for example—which accommodates a priest's desire to touch as much wood as they want—that is neither here nor there. The point here is that that Imane Boudlal should stop being such a drama queen and should find another job that pays $10 an hour that will allow her to wear that cloth thing on her head.

As with all the Yahoo News Stories I put up, here is a link to the story: Yahoo News. And here are some of the user comments...

Obama A Secret Muslim? (Yahoo News Comments)

An article on Yahoo News (written by Associated Press) had an article which discussed a poll on President Obama's religion. The story discusses how a larger percentage of those polled believe that Obama is a Muslim than previously; also more people claim to not know what Obama's religion is. Without getting into the actual numbers (you can check it out by clicking here: Yahoo News), I find it interesting how effective the right's propaganda is, especially that of FOX "News". The main reason that more people believe that Obama is a Muslim, or in other words, the reason why we have this increase is attributed to Obama supporting the construction of the Ground-Zero Mosque. If you haven't seen it, check it out...

While I disagree with Obama on condoning the building of this mosque, him doing so in no way makes him look like a Muslim. His actions make him seem more secular than anything, being that the reasons he gave for supporting it were religious freedom etc. I believe him supporting the Mosque shows more than anything that he is probably not a staunch believer, and probably more of an agnostic or deist (perhaps even an atheist).

Here are some of the Yahoo comments posted that caught my eye for rather being stupid, funny, bigoted...well, you get the idea.

(disclaimer: this site is not claiming to support or condone any of the following opinions, they are being posted for entertainment purposes only).

"How many times must the media try to clarify his religion. Obama says he is christian, but hangs out and caters more to Muslims. Obama bowed to a Muslim King. No american President is to bow before any king. what ever the case, OBAMA STINKS!"

"If it looks like a moslem, talks like a moslem and walks like a moslem, then regardless of protests to the contrary it is a moslem....and Barack Obama is a moslem."

"I'll ask again! Are there any Japanese Resturants at Pearl Harbor?"

"Liberal lies about him again. He was born in Kenya and he is a muslim. All his actions and statements prove he is--end of argument!!!!."

"He was born to a black African and a mentally ill white communist, and raised by a muslim. His african centered, supposed christian, church hates America. He don't even know what he is! He knows that he doesn't know what he is. All I see is a smooth talking colored boy with big ears who has never had a real job that produced anything of any use.

He is the perfect figure head for a nation that has lost its identity and is descending into third world status."

"If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, chances are its a Muslim."

"No Christian bows to a Saudi king plain and simple. This POS is a Moslem. Do a video search and hear from his own mouth. Wake up America."

"Actually he's neither...Communists don't believe in GOD."

Here are a few rational responses that I am not afraid to openly agree with...

"Anyone who really cares whether or not he's a Muslim or a Christian or an atheist must not have much of a life if they can really spend time and energy worrying about this kind of @#$%.
Seriously, grow up, people. There's a whole world outside of religion. It's lovely, and involves no nasty bickering and meaningless, pointless accusations. There's about as much wrong with Obama being a Muslim as there is him being a Christian."

"The fact is: The President is an Atheist. Those who don't already know this just have not been paying attention. like all American politicians, he panders to American superstitions for political reasons. Votes.
“Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the politicians as useful.” Seneca 3 Bc- 65Ad"

Is Obama a Muslim? I don't believe he is, I think that the increase in poll numbers is a product of FOX "News". Here is a video showing just how "fair and balanced" they are...

FOX likes to ask "questions" in order to imply some false piece of information for political spin. It is impressive how well they are able to do it. CNN/MSNBC/ABC needs to start taking notes, Republicans do not have a monopoly on stupid/gullible people...or do they?

Obama Backs Mosque Near Ground Zero (YouTube)

I agree with Obama on the point that everyone should be free to practice their religion. However the Muslims motives in having their mosque built in that particular location seems suspect to say the least. Especially after the public outcry against it. It seems obvious (to me at least) that they are looking to send a message, otherwise they would simply relocate to another location to avoid the drama. Another reason that I am against the construction of this mosque is that it will be a target of terrorism. While many Americans would not see an attack against this building as "terrorism" it certainty would be. While this analogy is probably not all that politically correct, and I am not claiming that Muslims are bigots (even though many of them are)—building a mosque near Ground Zero is like the KKK building a headquarters in the middle of Harlem. I use this analogy because if the KKK were to do this, their motives would appear malicious, and conflict would seem inevitable. While everyone should have rights in this country, a mosque should not be built that close to the site were all those people died. If those victims were killed by people that just so happen to be Muslim, my position would be different. 9/11 happened because of the belief system—they perhaps had a violent version of Islam—some Muslims are peaceful (I think).

It's sad how those that are against the building of the mosque are thought of as being intolerant...

(Debate over the Mosque)

We should not be forced to be tolerant towards those that refuse to be tolerant towards us. Respect is a two-way street. It's clear that the Muslims who want this mosque built do not respect the victims of those who took Islam a bit too seriously. We as a country may have to learn the hard way that we can't be overly tolerant: doing that will cause a naivety which will lead to us getting bit in the ass by those who don't need to live-up to such politically correct standards.

I recall a video of a Muslim, in New York City, who was being interviewed. He states that as a Muslim he is "commanded to terrorize the disbelievers". Well here, check it out for yourself...

I don't care what belief system you have, you do not have the right to 'terrorize' those that don't believe in your goofy ideas. The guy in this video is a traitor to this country and the secular values it was built on. I believe anyone who makes treasonous statements (like supporting 9/11) should be punished for doing so. I suppose drawing cartoons of Muhammad is hate-speech, but supporting those that murdered thousands and believe that more terrorism should come to 'nonbelievers' is not.
