California school sued for discriminating against Christian boy

That is wrong. Christians should be free to express their believes, even though the discrimination works the other way more often than not, and I don't see Christians defending them. Atheists are often discriminated.

This shouldn't be a Christian vs. Atheist thing like shockofgod tries to make it out to be. It isn't at all, most atheists would agree that this is wrong, that a Christian should be free to express their religious views. Atheism isn't the problem, hypersensitivity is. Many schools try to cleanse religious believe from their schools so non-Christians (Muslims, Jews, and atheists) don't get "offended". In our very connected society, filled with a sea of ideas, people are bound to disagree. All of the nonsense about being sensitive not to offend others when practicing freedom of speech is ridiculous, and needs to be scaled back in the United States. Now we have freedom of speech, as long as no one gets offended or disagrees.

Atheists (well, I believe most) only want God out of government (as well as the expression of those that represent the government in certain contexts). No atheists, Muslim, Jew, Scientologist, etc. would have been offended by hearing a song with Jesus in it (and if they do, then that is their problem). It is offensive to me the way in which people suppress freedom of speech, regardless of the reason (excluding language that seeks to incite violence of course).
